The TAIL has the standard 9.5 inch handle (with lanyard loop) accented with a 1 inch spike at the butt for a other imaginative tactile sensations. As with all Gryphon's Claw BDSM equipment, the handle can be wrapped in your choice of paracord color.
The business end of the TAIL consists of two 21 inch long, 3/4 inch wide unbraided lengths of black polyfiber rope. The effect is very soft but some "sting" can be coaxed out.
An interesting secondary aspect of the materials I use is that the entire piece can be washed with soapy water and left to hang dry without any fear of leather rot.
